5 Day Tanzania Fly-in Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha Airport – Serengeti National Park Start your adventure with a morning flight from Arusha Airport to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti (about 1 hour). Upon arrival, your safari guide will meet you and have a picnic lunch ready. After lunch, begin your first exciting game drive in the Serengeti, searching for big cats and grazing animals on the vast plains. In the evening, head back to your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti After breakfast, spend the full day exploring Serengeti National Park. Enjoy game drives in different areas, watching lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, and many bird species. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration with thousands of wildebeest and zebra moving across the plains.

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area Have an early breakfast, then head out for a morning game drive in the Serengeti. At midday, stop for a picnic lunch before continuing your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy game viewing along the way and arrive at the crater rim in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day safari with a picnic lunch. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to lions, elephants, cheetahs, hippos, and one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino. In the late afternoon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, located in the Great Rift Valley. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and diverse birdlife. You may also opt for a cultural visit in the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu. Later, return to Arusha (about 2 hours’ drive), where your safari ends.
