Day 0: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay. Take time to relax after your flight and prepare for the adventure ahead. Later, your professional safari driver-guide will meet you for a detailed briefing and overview of your photographic safari. The tour officially begins the following morning, with departure from your Arusha hotel or lodge at approximately 8:30 am.

Day 1 & 2: Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park for full-day game drives with picnic lunches inside the park. Tarangire is famous for its vast elephant herds and impressive concentrations of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, impala, gazelles, hartebeest, and eland. The park is also a stronghold for predators and is known for unique dry-country antelope species such as the fringe-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk. Tarangire National Park is particularly special as it hosts large numbers of migratory animals during the dry season, making it one of the best wildlife photography destinations in northern Tanzania.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at 7:00 am, depart from your lodge and drive toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, carrying picnic lunches for the journey. Enjoy scenic game viewing along the way as you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and along the crater rim. The Serengeti is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, eland, gazelles, wild dogs, and crocodiles. It is also one of Africa’s most important conservation and research areas. Arrive at Nabi Gate in the early afternoon, followed by a late-afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, head out for a full day of photographic game drives in the central Serengeti region. This area features a diverse range of landscapes, including vast grassland plains, savannah, rocky kopjes, rolling hills, woodlands, and riverine forests. These varied ecosystems provide excellent wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the year. In addition to the famous wildebeest and zebra migration, the Serengeti is home to large prides of lions, elusive leopards, fast-moving cheetahs, and clans of hyenas. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Seronera Nyani Campsite.

Day 5 & 6: Serengeti Game Drives

Spend two full days exploring the Serengeti on extensive game drives, focusing on wildlife photography and unique animal behavior. Due to the vast size of the park, game drive routes and timing will be guided by the movements of the migratory herds and wildlife activity. Your experienced safari guide will position you for the best possible sightings of the Great Migration, involving over one million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras. Even outside the migration season, the Serengeti delivers exceptional wildlife encounters. Dinner and overnight stays will be at a lodge.

Day 7: Serengeti Plains to Ngorongoro Crater
